A cross sector conversation on Gambling Issues

This is a public online event, open to anyone in the local community who wants to learn more about this important public health issue.

About this event

When it comes to gambling harm, we know it rarely occurs in isolation and people may be more likely to be access support for related issues such as family violence, drug and alcohol abuse, financial stress or legal aid. And too often, people haven’t connected how their (or a loved one’s ) gambling may be causing or exacerbating these linked issue.

To support the week, the Gambler’s Help Southern program, based at Connect Health & Community, in partnership with Peninsula Voice and Mornington Peninsula Shire will be hosting a community Q&A discussion to bring greater awareness to this issue.

We’ll hear from a panel of experts across a range of sectors who represent just some of the services that you may not expect to be at the forefront of gambling harm. They’ll share their firsthand experience of the impacts of gambling harm in the work they do.

We’ll also be joined by a lived experience member of the Three Sides of the Coin project and hear their story from gambling harm to recovery.

This event is an opportunity to Talk.Share.Support and collectively explore these interconnected issues.
