Is gambling harm our blind spot?

Local gambling awareness public conversation and forum

The forum is an opportunity to put this public health issue in the spot light, exploring the evidence of how it impacts on our families, friends and our community.

Gambler’s Help Southern has partnered with the Mornington Peninsula Shire and SHARC – the Self Help Addiction Resource Centre to launch a local campaign to raise awareness of gambling harm.

By creating conversation we hope to address the shame and stigma often associated with this largely unseen and unspoken public health issue.

Our speakers at this free, public forum:

  • Sam Hearn – National Training & Network Manager – COACH Network
  • Professor Samantha Thomas – Deakin University
  • Jeremy Forbes – President & Co-founder – Hope Assistance Local Tradies (HALT)
  • Rev. Tim Costello AO – Advocate
  • Three Sides of the Coin project (Link Health) will perform a scene about gambling harm and recovery, by people who’ve been there themselves.

Thank you to our Sponsors for the evening
